Mussel is the common name used for members of several families of bivalve molluscs, from saltwater and freshwater habitats. Penn Cove mussels are from farms located in Penn Cove on Whidbey Island and the other in Quilcene Bay, located on Washington State’s Olympic Peninsula. Penn Cove Mussels spawn in the early spring and are therefore wonderful during the summer months through winter. They have a firm texture with a sweet flavor.
