Monkfish

Members of the genus Lophius, also sometimes called monkfish, fishing-frogs, frog-fish, and sea-devils, are various species of lophiid anglerfishes found in the Atlantic and Indian Oceans. Monkfish has a mild flavor and firm texture. Monkfish is known for its tight, meaty white flesh that is often compared to lobster meat. It’s not only similar to lobster in texture, but also in flavor. It has a mild, sweet flavor without a trace of fishiness. Monkfish is also low in calories and high in B vitamins and minerals.
